Orthodontics for Children

The American Association of Orthodontics suggests that children be seen for an orthodontic consultation by the age of 7.  We can advise of any functional orthodontic problem at that time and when the appropriate timing for treatment is indicated (or not).  As far as first phase interceptive orthodontic treatment goes - we shouldn't really say - but we don't really care if the teeth are just crooked at an early age (still has many baby teeth left and a few adult teeth in place).  We DO care at this time that FUNCTIONALLY the teeth come together properly - (ie, crossbites, giant overbites, teeth that stick out so far that there would be a chance of fracture, not enough room for teeth to come in at least close to the proper position).  These type of problems we like to address at an early age - we can simply "straighten" crooked teeth at a later date when all the permanent teeth are in. 

Orthodontics for Adults

Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age and adults especially appreciate the benefits of a beautiful smile. One of every five patients in orthodontic treatment is over 21. Before Invisalign, many of our adult patients would not have even thought about straightening their teeth!  Many adults would rather keep their crooked teeth than have braces on as an adult!  (It is cool as a teen to have braces though, we even do actually like them on adults also, but we digress...).  The majority of patients that can be treated with braces can also be treated with Invisalign! Now with Invisalign, there is no reason to have crooked teeth!  A Confident, beautiful smile is only an appointment away with our office, we actually think that your teeth look better with the aligners in than out, even with crooked teeth!  (sounds not too smart, but they make your teeth look shiny when they are in)!  Invisalign is virtually invisible and has the flexibilty and convenience to fit your busy day!
